Seeking to hire a Field Area Network Analyst for our customer's Transmission & Distribution Global Practice in Houston. The Transmission & Distribution global practice is looking for a Field Area Network (FAN) Analyst in their Houston office. The Field Area Network (FAN) Analyst will be responsible for engineering design and technical compliance of multiple field area network (FAN) deployment projects. Major responsibilities for the Field Area Network (FAN) Analyst will include: Design FAN networks utilizing client standards or developing new standards. Identify applicable technologies and their strengths and disadvantages. (Licensed vs Unlicensed Spectrum, Radio Technologies: LMR, DMR, LTE, Spread spectrum, CDMA, etc., Radio Topologies: PTP, PTM, Mesh, Ring, etc.) Network planning optimization Network architecture diagrams Channel plans RF studies (path and coverage studies) Equipment migration plans Bill of materials Engineering specifications Equipment plans: sections and details, wiring diagrams, power and fusing Physical details: grounding, cable routing, mounting hardware Device configuration files Identify and troubleshoot network performance degradations Provide support to customers in field of expertise Execute complex assignments requiring the use of advanced tools and techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods. Identify, communicate and resolve issues on projects as needed. Work closely with the project team to ensure deliverables and services are being provided to client s satisfaction and that projects are following internal QA/QC guidelines. Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel to develop relationships with key client points of contact. Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications At least a two-year degree in a telecommunications related field. Must have a minimum of 2 years of work experience on field area network design and optimization. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited program. Engineering in Training (EIT) registration. Professional Engineering (PE) registration. Previous consulting experience. Previous utility company experience. Previous experience using EDX SignalPro, Pathloss, or other wireless system propagation modeling software.
