Job SC16269 SCADA ENGINEER Location The Woodlands Type Permanent The SCADA Engineer positionrsquos primary role is to support operations in data gathering and processing to give a clear view of the real-time status of the gathering system. It will also support the measurement group in bringing in historical measurement data from all field devices. A successful candidate will be self-motivated and be able assess and prioritize tasks in a complicated system. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and configure SCADA systems in a midstream oil and gas environment Troubleshoot communication networks from field devices to polling engines Work with Measurement and Operations teams to determine if data is valid Optimize HMIs to give users the best interpretation of field operations Gather data from all field devices company wide Create reports that process large amounts of data from various areas of operations Essential Skills Strong interest in design and engineering in a hands-on midstream oil and gas environment Ability to work effectively and diligently as an individual and team member to resolve complex issues with critical equipment Knowledge of network infrastructure components, industrial communication systems and protocols such as Modbus TCPIP, Modbus RTU, DNP, and OPC protocols Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor Master of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university Three yearsrsquo experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting SCADA or equivalent distributed control systems (DCS) Three yearsrsquo experience troubleshooting configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting communication equipment including MDS radios, spread spectrum radios, and Sierra Wireless cell modems Familiarity with software programs including ClearSCADA, ACM, and Autosolrsquos LLT Knowledge of midstream oil and gas gathering and processing
